The chief executive can stop a ship from fishing under an international fishing permit. This happens when the chief executive gets a report from a foreign high seas inspector that someone on the ship is not following the rules, such as those in section 113W. The chief executive can suspend the international fishing permit by giving notice to the ship's master, which can be done orally or by electronic communication.
