You are a high seas fishery inspector. You board and inspect foreign vessels. If New Zealand is part of a global, regional, or subregional fisheries organisation or arrangement, you follow their procedures. You do this when you board and inspect a vessel under section 113S(1) to ensure the vessel complies with international conservation and management measures. You must follow the organisation's procedures if they are different from the requirements of section 113T or section 113U. The chief executive must also follow these procedures. This helps ensure you are doing your job correctly. You need to know about the Fish Stocks Agreement, which has procedures for boarding and inspection of vessels. This is in Article 21.2 of the agreement. You follow these procedures when you are inspecting a vessel.
