When you read about aquaculture, you need to know what some words mean. An adverse effect on fishing means it restricts or stops fishing. You can find more information about coastal permits under the Resource Management Act 1991. An application for a coastal permit is when someone asks for a permit under the Resource Management Act 1991. This includes asking to change or cancel a condition of a coastal permit under section 127 of that Act. It also includes a notice to review conditions under section 128 of that Act. An aquaculture decision is when someone makes a determination or reservation. A coastal permit is a permit granted under the Resource Management Act 1991 that allows aquaculture activities. A determination is when the chief executive decides that aquaculture activities will not harm fishing. A reservation is when the chief executive decides that aquaculture activities might harm fishing. A regional council is a group that acts as a consent authority under the Resource Management Act 1991.
