You are a high seas fishery inspector. You must not enter living quarters on a vessel or do a remote access search without a search warrant. You need to apply for a search warrant under the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. An issuing officer will only give you a search warrant if you have a good reason to enter the living quarters or do a remote access search. Living quarters are areas on a vessel where people live, but do not include communal areas or work areas. You must follow the rules in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 when applying for a search warrant.
