You do not have to follow some rules about registering vessels if you have a foreign fishing vessel. This applies if your vessel is licensed under Part 5 to fish in New Zealand's exclusive economic zone. You can find more information about this in section 103 and section 105. Registering a vessel does not change who owns it or any interests in it. This is stated in section 103 and section 105, and in the Fishing Vessel Register. It does not give or take away any rights to a vessel.
