Illustration for Fisheries Act 1996

If a law in the Fisheries Act 1996 says a presumption applies to something, it applies even if no other evidence is given to support it. You can think of a presumption like an assumption that something is true. The law says this applies whether or not someone presents more evidence to back it up.
