If you want to be a fish farmer, the chief executive must do a few things if your application is granted. The chief executive will enter your details in the Fish Farmer Register, including the date your application was granted and your name. They will also include the location and boundaries of your fish farm, the types of fish or seaweed you can farm, and any other required information. The chief executive will then give you a notice of registration with your details and any conditions you must follow, as stated in section 186S. You will get to know what is expected of you as a registered fish farmer. This notice is an important document for you to keep. You can find more information about being a fish farmer and what the law says about it in the Fisheries Act 1996. The chief executive's job is to make sure you follow the rules and regulations. They will keep track of all the registered fish farmers in the Fish Farmer Register.
