The Minister can set up a group called the National Fisheries Advisory Council to give them advice. You can think of this group as a team that helps the Minister make decisions about fisheries. The Minister decides what topics the team will advise on. The Minister can ask the team to look into certain matters, do research, and write reports to help with their advice. The team might give advice on how to keep fisheries sustainable, like setting limits on how many fish can be caught. The Minister can also ask for advice on other topics, such as how to manage fisheries resources or plan for fisheries services. The team's advice can cover a range of areas, including research, administration, and enforcement of fisheries rules. The Minister is in charge of deciding what the team will work on and what advice they will give. You can learn more about the Minister's role and the National Fisheries Advisory Council in the Fisheries Act 1996.
