In this part of the law, 'specified functions, duties, or powers' refers to tasks the chief executive does. These tasks are mainly about managing quota, commercial fisheries, or fish farming. You can find more about keeping registers under sections 98, 124, and 186K. The chief executive's tasks do not include what the Minister does. They also do not include powers given to fishery officers or examiners by this Act. This helps you understand what the chief executive is responsible for in managing fisheries.
