Civil Aviation Act 1990

Aviation security

80D: Consent to be screened or searched

You could also call this:

"You must agree before anyone can check you or your belongings at the airport for safety"

When you go to the airport, you might need to be screened or searched for safety reasons. This law says that you have to agree before someone can screen or search you. The same goes for your things, like bags or vehicles. If you don't agree, they can't do it.

But there's one exception: if you leave your stuff alone, like a bag or a car, it can be screened or searched without anyone asking you first. This is to make sure everything is safe, even if the owner isn't there.

Remember, this is all about keeping everyone safe when they're travelling by plane. The people doing the screening are just following the rules to help protect you and other travellers.
