Offences and penalties - General offences

49A: Carrying on scheduled international air service without licence or contrary to licence

You could also call this:

"Operating international flights without proper permission is against the law"

If you operate a scheduled international air service in New Zealand, you need to have a special licence. This licence is given under Part 8A of the law. You're breaking the law if you run this kind of service without a licence or if you don't follow the rules of your licence.

If you break this law, you can be punished. If you're an individual person, you might have to pay a fine of up to $10,000. If you're a company, the fine could be as much as $50,000.

Remember, it's important to have the right licence and follow its rules when you're running an international air service in New Zealand.
