Civil Aviation Act 1990

Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol

109: Irrevocable de-registration and export request authorisations

You could also call this:

"Rules for owners who want to remove their plane from New Zealand's aircraft list"

You need to know about something called an irrevocable de-registration and export request authorisation. This is important if you own a plane that's registered in New Zealand.

If you have a certificate that shows you're the owner of a plane registered in New Zealand, and you make an irrevocable de-registration and export request authorisation, you must give this to the Director of Civil Aviation. The authorisation needs to be in a special form that's part of something called the Aircraft Protocol.

When you give this to the Director, you might need to pay a fee. The amount of the fee, if there is one, will be set out somewhere else.

After you give the authorisation to the Director, the Civil Aviation Authority will write it down in a special list called the New Zealand Register of Aircraft. This makes sure there's a record of your authorisation.
