Civil Aviation Act 1990

Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol

111: Removal requests

You could also call this:

"Asking to take an aircraft off the official list"

If you have permission to remove an aircraft from a register, you can ask the Director to do this. You can do this if you are the authorised party or someone they have chosen. If you owe money on the aircraft, you can also ask for it to be removed if you get written permission from the authorised party.

When you ask to remove an aircraft, you need to write to the Director. If you owe money on the aircraft, you must include the written permission from the authorised party. You might also need to pay a fee.

After the Director gets your request, they have to act quickly. Within 5 working days, they must cancel the permission to remove the aircraft. Then, the Authority has to take the aircraft off the New Zealand Register of Aircraft.
