International air services licensing - Scheduled international air service licences for foreign international airlines

87M: Consideration of application for scheduled international air service licence by foreign international airline

You could also call this:

“How the government checks if a foreign airline can fly regular routes to New Zealand”

When you apply for a scheduled international air service licence as a foreign international airline, the Secretary will look at a few important things. They’ll check any air service agreements and other international agreements that New Zealand is part of. They’ll also make sure you meet the safety and security requirements set by the Director. The Minister might also decide there are other things that need to be considered.

If giving you the licence would go against any of the agreements New Zealand is part of, the Secretary won’t be able to give you the licence.
