Offences and penalties - Safety offences

46A: Acting without required medical certificate

You could also call this:

“Flying without the proper health check can get you in trouble”

You can get in trouble if you fly an aircraft or use an aviation document without the right medical certificate. This applies if:

You don’t have a current medical certificate that the Director of Civil Aviation approves.

You know or think you might not be able to safely do the things your medical certificate allows.

You don’t follow the rules the Director set for your medical certificate.

If you break these rules, you could go to jail for up to 12 months or have to pay a fine of up to $10,000.
