Other parts, like section 4(1), also start then.

Some other parts, like Schedule 7 as far as it relates to the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, start on 1 October 2003. The rest of the Act starts on a date chosen by the Governor-General.

2Commencement

  1. The following sections come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent:

  2. sections 10 to 13; and
    1. section 30(b); and
      1. section 34; and
        1. section 84; and
          1. sections 86 to 93; and
            1. section 94(1), (2)(a), and (3); and
              1. section 97; and
                1. sections 98 to 103; and
                  1. section 121; and
                    1. section 180; and
                      1. section 314; and
                        1. sections 317 to 325; and
                          1. section 372 as far as it relates to section 314; and
                              1. section 376(2); and
                                1. section 377; and
                                  1. Schedule 7 as far as it relates to the Casino Control Act 1990; and
                                    1. section 4(1) as far as it relates to the sections specified in paragraphs (a) to (q).
                                      1. Schedule 7 as far as it relates to the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977 comes into force on 1 October 2003.

                                      2. The rest of this Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for different provisions.

                                      3. An order under this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements).
