The Secretary can suspend or cancel a licensed promoter's licence if they think the promoter is no longer suitable to hold it. This can happen if you are not meeting the requirements outlined in section 201(2) or (3). You might not be suitable if you are failing to comply with the Gambling Act, your licence, or your agreement.

206Suspension or cancellation of licensed promoter’s licence

  1. The Secretary may suspend for up to 6 months, or cancel, a licensed promoter’s licence if the Secretary is satisfied that—

  2. the licensed promoter is no longer suitable to hold the licence, in terms of section 201(2) or (3):
    1. the licensed promoter is failing, or has failed, to comply with—
      1. this Act; or
        1. the licence; or
          1. the licensed promoter’s agreement.
          2. In deciding whether to suspend or cancel a licensed promoter’s licence, the Secretary must take into account the matters in section 201.
