Gambling Act 2003

Gambling - Licensing of casino gambling - Amendment of casino licence

139: Conditions of casino licence

You could also call this:

"Rules that casinos must follow to get or keep a licence"

The Gambling Commission can decide the conditions of a casino licence. They can do this when they first give a licence, when they renew a licence, or when they agree to a new casino venue. You can also ask the Commission to change the conditions of your licence. The Commission can make these decisions on their own or because the Secretary asked them to.

When the Commission sets a condition for a casino licence, it must follow the rules of the Gambling Act. The condition must help achieve the purpose of the Act and make sure the Act is administered efficiently. It must not allow more opportunities for casino gambling. The condition can be about anything, including things listed in the Schedule 1 of the Act.

The Commission's decisions about conditions must be fair and reasonable. They must make sure the conditions do not contradict the Act. You can find more information about the rules and conditions of casino licences in the Gambling Act.
