Gambling Act 2003

Gambling - Licensing of casino gambling - Renewal of casino venue licence

138: Expiry of casino venue licence

You could also call this:

"When a casino licence runs out after 25 years"

A casino venue licence will expire 25 years after the casino starts operating. You can think of it like a timer that starts when the casino opens. When this happens, the licence will no longer be valid.

If the licence is renewed under section 137, it will expire 15 years after it is renewed. You can renew a casino venue licence more than once if you need to. This means the licence can be renewed multiple times.

When someone applies to renew a casino venue licence, the licence stays valid until the Gambling Commission makes a decision about the renewal. This means the licence does not expire while the application is being considered. The Gambling Commission will decide whether or not to renew the licence.
