The Governor-General can make rules for the Gambling Act 2003. You might break these rules and commit an offence. The Governor-General decides what the penalty will be for each offence. 370ARegulations relating to offences

  1. The Governor-General may, by Order in Council, make regulations for all or any of the following purposes:

  2. prescribing offences in respect of the contravention of any regulation or game rule made under this Act:
    1. prescribing the penalty for each offence under paragraph (a), which,—
      1. in the case of a licence holder, must not exceed $10,000:
        1. in the case of an individual, must not exceed $5,000.
        2. Regulations under this section are secondary legislation (see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements).
