If you win a prize in a New Zealand lottery, you do not get interest on that prize. This is unless the Lotteries Commission had no good reason to question whether you should get the prize or to hold back the payment. The Lotteries Commission must have had a reasonable ground for doing so, otherwise you may be entitled to interest on your prize.
