Gambling Act 2003

Institutions - New Zealand Lottery Grants Board - Distribution committees

281: Functions of distribution committees

You could also call this:

"How lottery money is shared out by distribution committees"

The functions of each distribution committee are to approve some of the undistributed profits of New Zealand lotteries for distribution, and to do other tasks given to it by this part of the law or by regulations made under the Gambling Act 2003. You need to know that a distribution committee gets to decide how to distribute some of the money from New Zealand lotteries. When a distribution committee is doing its job, it must follow the rules made by the Board about how to distribute the profits of New Zealand lotteries.

A distribution committee must also follow any directions given by the Board about distributing profits. This means the committee has to do what the Board tells it to do when it comes to giving out the money. The Board has a policy on how the profits should be distributed, and the committee must comply with this policy.

You can find more information about this by looking at the Gambling Act 2003, and also by comparing it to the 1977 law, which is 1977 No 84 s 116O.
