The Secretary can set minimum standards for gambling equipment. You need to know that this includes how the equipment is designed, made, and works. The Secretary can change or cancel these standards at any time.

The minimum standards can include things like features to help reduce problem gambling. They can also require equipment to be monitored and controlled electronically.

The Secretary can use standards or rules from other countries or organisations when setting minimum standards. If these standards change, the changes do not apply until the Secretary says so. You can find out more about how these standards are published by looking at Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.

The Secretary's decisions on minimum standards and any notices about changes are considered secondary legislation.
