Gambling Act 2003

Gambling - Licensed promoters of class 3 gambling - Bond

197: Secretary may appoint administrator

You could also call this:

"The Government can appoint someone to manage special payments and claims."

The Secretary can choose someone to be in charge of the bonds that some people pay. You might be wondering what this person does - they look after the bonds paid by people who are approved to guarantee something will happen. They also deal with claims for compensation that people make against someone who has a licence to promote something, which are made under a part of the law called section 198.

The person in charge considers these claims, talks to people about them, and decides whether to pay them. This is all part of their job to administer the bonds and compensation claims. They make sure everything is taken care of according to the law.
