225: Gambling Commission is Commission of Inquiry

You could also call this:

"The Gambling Commission has special powers like a Commission of Inquiry to help it make decisions."

The Gambling Commission is treated like a Commission of Inquiry under the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908. This means the rules in the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908 apply to the Gambling Commission. You can think of the Gambling Commission as having the same powers as a Commission of Inquiry.

The Gambling Commission cannot own property or employ people. It has certain limits on what it can do. The rules that apply to the Gambling Commission are set out in the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908.

The Gambling Commission gets extra powers from the Gambling Act, which are in addition to the powers it gets from the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908. This means the Gambling Commission can do more things because of the Gambling Act.
