Gambling Act 2003

Institutions - New Zealand Lotteries Commission - Operation of New Zealand lotteries

244: Minister may require Lotteries Commission products to comply with regulations and minimum standards

You could also call this:

"The Minister can make the Lotteries Commission follow rules and standards."

The Minister can tell the Lotteries Commission to make sure their products follow certain rules and standards. You can find these rules and standards in section 313 and section 327. The Minister can also ask the Lotteries Commission to change or get rid of a rule, or make a new one, to make sure they are following the rules.

If the Minister makes a notice, it is like a smaller law, and you can learn more about how it works in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. The Minister must send a copy of the notice to the Lotteries Commission as soon as possible after it is made public.

The Lotteries Commission will get a copy of the notice so they know what to do.
