Illustration for Gambling Act 2003

A gambling inspector can ask you for information or documents if they need them to do their job. They will send you a notice saying what they need and when they need it. You might have to give them information or show them documents like papers or files.

If a gambling inspector asks you for information or documents, you have to give them to the inspector as soon as you reasonably can. The inspector must tell you that you do not have to give them information or documents if it could get you into trouble.

You cannot be forced to give information or documents that could incriminate you, unless you have a licence related to gambling. The inspector has to inform you of this right before asking for any information or documents from you.
