Gambling Act 2003

Gambling - Classes of gambling - Class 4 gambling

30: Meaning of class 4 gambling

You could also call this:

"What is class 4 gambling, where money goes to good causes?"

In New Zealand, class 4 gambling is a type of gambling where the money made from it goes to good causes. You know it's class 4 gambling if it meets some rules. The money from the gambling must be used for authorised purposes. When you run class 4 gambling, you might not pay anyone to do it, or you might pay a venue operator, but only if they follow the rules made under section 371(1)(dd). There must be rules for the game, and the game must follow those rules. The person in charge, called the Secretary, must say it's class 4 gambling, or it must use a gaming machine.
