237: Crown entity status

You could also call this:

"What it means to be a part of the government, like the New Zealand Lotteries Commission."

The New Zealand Lotteries Commission is a Crown entity, which means it is treated as one for the purposes of section 7 of the Crown Entities Act 2004. You can think of a Crown entity as an organisation that is part of the government. The Crown Entities Act 2004 applies to the Lotteries Commission, except when this Act says something different. This means the Lotteries Commission has to follow the rules in the Crown Entities Act 2004, unless this Act has other rules that apply.
