“List of previous laws that are no longer in effect due to this act”
This part of the Employment Relations Act 2000 lists the laws that are no longer in effect because of this new act. These old laws cover many different areas, like defence, education, electricity, and employment contracts.
Some of the laws that are no longer used include changes to rules about equal pay, holidays, and minimum wages. There are also old laws about parental leave, police, and the state sector that are not used anymore.
The list includes laws from different years, mostly from the 1990s, but some go back to the 1960s. By getting rid of these old laws, the Employment Relations Act 2000 became the new set of rules for many work-related issues in New Zealand.
