100D: Code of good faith for public health sector
or “Rules for fair treatment and good behaviour in public health workplaces”

You could also call this:

“The Governor-General can change the rules for being fair in public hospitals if important people agree.”

You can change or replace the code of good faith for the public health sector that’s in Schedule 1B. The Governor-General can do this by making an Order in Council when the Minister recommends it.

The Minister can only recommend changes if Health New Zealand and unions that represent at least three-quarters of union members working for Health New Zealand ask for it. The Minister also needs to talk to the Minister of Health and other people or groups they think should be involved.

An order made to change or replace the code is a type of secondary legislation. This means it has to follow special rules about how it’s published, which you can find in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
