“Your boss must tell you their decision about your request in writing within 10 working days.”

If you ask your employer for something, they must deal with it as soon as possible, but not later than 10 working days after they get your request. They must then tell you in writing if your request is approved or refused. You will also get information about specialist family violence support services.

If your employer says no to your request, they must tell you why in writing, and explain their reasons. They must say which grounds they are using to refuse your request, as stated in section 69ABF(1)(a) and (b). Your employer must give you this information when they tell you their decision.

Your employer has to follow these rules when dealing with your request, and they must provide you with the necessary information and explanations.
