“Who can be part of a community board”

A community board is made up of two types of members. The first type is people who are elected by the community. These elections happen according to the rules in the Local Electoral Act 2001. The second type is people who might be chosen by the local council. If the council decides to appoint members, they must do this following the rules in the Local Electoral Act 2001. The local council that can appoint members is the one that looks after the area where the community board is located.
