Local Government Act 2002

Powers of Minister to act in relation to local authorities - General provisions applying to Ministerial powers conferred under subpart 1

258V: Remuneration and expenses of Ministerial appointees

You could also call this:

“Payment and costs for people chosen by the Minister to help with government work”

When you are appointed by the Minister to be part of a Ministerial body, you get paid for your work. The Minister decides how much you get paid based on a system called the fees framework. This framework is set by the Government to figure out how much people should be paid for working on different groups that the Government is involved with.

You also get money back for any travel costs or other expenses you have while doing your job as a member of the Ministerial body. But these expenses need to be reasonable and actually related to your work.

The fees framework is a set of rules that the Government uses to decide how much to pay people who work on official groups. It helps make sure that everyone is paid fairly and consistently across different government-related groups.
