Local Government Act 2002

Powers of Minister to act in relation to local authorities - General provisions applying to Ministerial powers conferred under subpart 1

258X: Minister may terminate Ministerial body or Ministerial appointee

You could also call this:

“Minister can stop special groups or people from working for the government”

The Minister can end the appointment of a Ministerial body at any time by writing a notice. When the Minister does this, they must tell the local authority in writing, put a notice in the Gazette (which is like an official government newspaper), and make a public announcement.

The Minister can also end the appointment of a single Ministerial appointee at any time by writing a notice. If this happens, the person who loses their job doesn’t get any money as compensation.
