Illustration for Local Government Act 2002

When a Minister appoints a Ministerial body under sections like section 258(1), 258B(1), or 258MA(1), you need to know what the notice of appointment must include. The notice must state that the Minister has appointed a Ministerial body, the terms of reference, start and end dates, and the names of each member. It must also state the name of the chairperson if there is one.

If the notice is about a Commission and the Minister has postponed the next triennial general election under section 258I, the notice must include this information. The notice must state that the Minister has postponed the election and will call a new one before the term of the Commission ends. You can find more information about this in the Local Government Act 2002.
