295: Communities and community boards

“Rules for keeping old community groups and boards”

If you live in a community that was set up under section 101ZG of the Local Government Act 1974, and that community existed before 1 July 2003, it will continue to exist. The same applies to any community board that was set up for that community before 1 July 2003. These communities and community boards will keep working just as they did before, as if they were created under the new Local Government Act 2002. If needed, they will be treated as if they were created under the new act.
