“How the government picks people to check on local councils”

A Crown Review Team can have one or more members. If there are two or more members, you will choose one of them to be the leader, called the chairperson.

You will appoint each member of the Crown Review Team by writing them a notice. This notice needs to tell them important information about their job:

  • What problem they need to look at and what they’re allowed to do about it. This is called their ‘terms of reference’.
  • When they start and finish their job as a team member.
  • When the review starts and ends.
