48HFunctions, duties, and powers of local boards

  1. A local board has the functions, duties, and powers conferred on a local board by or under this Act or any other enactment.

  2. Without limiting subsection (1), a local board—

  3. must exercise the responsibilities conferred on it by section 48K(1); and
    1. must monitor and report on the implementation of the local board agreement for its local board area (in accordance with section 48O(6) and clause 34A of Schedule 10); and
      1. must communicate with community organisations and special interest groups within its local board area; and
        1. must undertake any responsibilities or duties that are delegated to it by the governing body under clause 36C of Schedule 7; and
          1. may consider and report to the governing body on any matter of interest or concern to the local board, whether or not the matter is referred to it by the governing body; and
            1. may exercise any powers that are delegated to it by the governing body under clause 36C of Schedule 7.
