Local Government Act 2002

Consequential amendments, repeals, revocations, transitional provisions, and savings - Transitional provisions

278: First policy on significance

You could also call this:

“Local councils had to make a rule about important things by June 2003”

If you were part of a local authority when section 90 of this law came into effect, you needed to do something important. You had to create a special policy by 30 June 2003. This policy was about figuring out what things are significant. The law says you had to adopt this policy under section 90(1). This means you had to officially agree on and start using this policy. It was important to do this before the end of June 2003.
