Local Government Act 2002

Council-controlled organisations and council organisations - Directors

58: Role of directors of council-controlled organisations

You could also call this:

“Directors of council-run groups must help reach the group's goals”

The directors of council-controlled organisations have a special job. Your main task is to help the organisation achieve its goals. These goals are written down in a document called a statement of intent. You need to help the organisation meet these goals and any other things the statement of intent says.

This isn’t the only thing you have to do as a director. You still have other duties, but this law doesn’t change or limit those other duties. It’s just adding this specific task on top of your other responsibilities.
