Illustration for Local Government Act 2002

The Crown has to follow some bylaws made by local authorities. You need to know that the Crown is bound by bylaws made under certain provisions, such as section 146(a)(iv), which is about solid wastes. The Crown does not have to follow bylaws made under other provisions, unless not following them would harm public health or safety. The Crown must follow a bylaw if not doing so would likely cause problems for people's health or safety. You should be aware that there are some exceptions, but generally the Crown has to follow bylaws that affect public health or safety.
