Local Government Act 2002

Consequential amendments, repeals, revocations, transitional provisions, and savings - Savings

310: Saving in respect of bylaws of Transit New Zealand

You could also call this:

“Road rules made by Transit New Zealand still apply and new ones can be made”

You should know that even though some parts of the Local Government Act 1974 have been cancelled, this doesn’t change the rules made by Transit New Zealand. These rules were made under section 61(3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989. The New Zealand Transport Agency can still make new rules under section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989. This means that the old rules about roads and transport are still in effect, and new ones can be made, even though some other parts of the law have changed.
