Local Government Act 2002

Regulatory, enforcement, and coercive powers of local authorities - Development contributions - Contributions may be required by territorial authorities

199L: Liability of development contributions commissioners

You could also call this:

“Development contributions commissioners are protected from mistakes if they try their best”

You should know that development contributions commissioners have special protection when they do their job. If a commissioner makes a mistake or forgets to do something while they’re working, they won’t get in trouble as long as they were trying their best to do the right thing. This protection applies to all the tasks, duties, and powers that commissioners have under this law and other laws too. It’s important to remember that this only works if the commissioner is acting in good faith, which means they’re honestly trying to do their job properly.
