Local Government Act 2002

Purpose of local government, and role and powers of local authorities - Role of local authorities and related matters

13: Performance of functions under other enactments

You could also call this:

“Following local government rules when working under other laws”

When you perform a task under a different law, you still need to follow the rules in Sections 10 and 12(2). These rules apply as long as they don’t clash with what the other law says. This means you need to keep in mind the purpose of local government and your role and powers, even when you’re doing something under another law. But if the other law says something different, you follow that instead.
