This part of the law has been removed. It used to talk about ‘Core services to be considered in performing role’ under the ‘Purpose of local government, and role and powers of local authorities’ section of the Local Government Act 2002. However, on 14 May 2019, this section was taken out of the law. The government made this change through the Local Government (Community Well-being) Amendment Act 2019.
