Local Government Act 2002

Powers of Minister to act in relation to local authorities - General provisions applying to Ministerial powers conferred under subpart 1

258U: Final report of Ministerial body

You could also call this:

"The Minister's team writes a final report after finishing its work, saying what it did and what it recommends."

When a Ministerial body finishes its work, it must write a final report. You will find several things in this report, including what the Ministerial body did, how well it solved the problem it was looking at, and any recommendations it has. The report will also say if the Minister should do more to help the local authority.

The Minister must give a copy of the report to the local authority as soon as possible. The Minister must also make the report available to the public, but can leave out some information if it is necessary to keep it secret for reasons stated in section 6 or 7 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.

The report must cover everything the Ministerial body was asked to look at, and the Ministerial body can include any other information it thinks is important.
