Powers of Minister to act in relation to local authorities
General provisions applying to Ministerial powers conferred under
subpart 1
258UFinal report of Ministerial body
A final report produced by a Ministerial body must include the following:
- a narrative description of the activities of the
Ministerial body in relation to its terms of reference;
and
- in respect of the problem in relation to which the
Ministerial body was appointed, an assessment of progress
in addressing the problem; and
- any final recommendations of the Ministerial body to the
Minister, the local authority, or both; and
- without limiting paragraph (c), any final recommendations
of the Ministerial body to the Minister on whether the
Minister should take further action in relation to the
local authority, including whether the Minister should
appoint any other Ministerial body to the local authority;
and
- any other matter required by the Ministerial body's terms
of reference.
The Minister must, as soon as practicable,—
- give a copy of the report to the local authority;
and
- make the report publicly available, excluding any
information that it is necessary to withhold for any of
the reasons stated in
section 6
or
7
of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987.
