Local Government Act 2002

Regulatory, enforcement, and coercive powers of local authorities - Powers of local authorities to make bylaws - Powers of territorial authorities to make bylaws

147C: Signage for areas in which bylaws for alcohol control purposes apply

You could also call this:

“Signs that tell you where you can't drink alcohol in public”

You need to know about signs for areas where there are rules about alcohol. The government can make regulations that tell local councils what to do about these signs. These regulations might say that councils have to put up signs and keep them in good condition. The signs will show where the alcohol rules apply.

The regulations might also say exactly where councils should put these signs. They could even give details about how the signs should look. This might include what the signs say, how big they are, what letters to use, what symbols to include, and what colours to use.

All of this helps people know where the alcohol rules apply in their area.
