Illustration for Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

When a protection order is registered in a New Zealand court under section 207X, you treat it as if the court made the order on the day it was registered. This means it is a real protection order, but you cannot appeal against the making of the order under section 341.

If an order is made to transfer protection proceedings to New Zealand and it is registered in a court under section 207X, you treat the proceedings as if they started in the court on the day the order was registered.

If an interim order is registered in a court under section 207X, you treat it as if the court made the order on the day it was registered, under section 78. However, you cannot appeal against the making of the interim order under section 341.
