"What happens to plans and documents if a protection order is cancelled?"

Illustration for Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

If the court cancels the registration of a protection order under section 207ZF, the court can make decisions about any plans that affect the child or young person. The court can do this on its own or if someone asks it to. The court can decide to make a new plan or change an existing one.

If the court cancels the registration of a protection order, the court's Registrar must send some documents to the right person in the other country's court. This happens after the order is cancelled. The documents are the ones that were filed when the order was first registered.
